Sister Noelle Rose
This time in the 2025 Republic Day parade, for the first time, Sister Noelle Rose, a female nun from Kerala, will lead the NSS contingent. The special thing is that this is the first time that a woman nun from Kerala will lead the squad. This time, the command of this 12-member NSS squad will be in the hands of Sister Noelle Rose. This is the first time in the history of the Republic Day Parade that a woman nun will lead the squad.

Sister Rose is a faculty member of the Malayalam department of Newman College, Thudupuzha. Sister Rose belongs to the congregation of the Mothers of Carmel. She is working as the district coordinator in Idukki for the National Service Project. Sister Rose has been selected as the winner of the Best Programme Award of Mahatma Gandhi University. She has also been selected for the state level. He was selected from among around 3,000 officials in the state, reports New Indian Express.
The 12-member team led by the nun comprises volunteers from various universities and the Institute of Human Resource Development (IHRD) of Kerala. Sister Rose is originally from Kalady. She joined the NSS five years ago. She was also part of the K Chittilapalli Foundation’s initiative to build 12 houses for the poor.
Authored 17 books
Sister Noelle Rose has also written 17 books. Before joining Newman College, he taught at Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha for over a decade. Their honour of participating in the Republic Day parade is a recognition of the services rendered by CMC monks in education and social service across the country.
