NEW DELHI: Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chowdhury has said that the indigenous fighter jet Tejas has proved its mettle and shown that size does not matter. In exercise Wave Power, Tejas practiced air combat with the Eurofighter Typhoon of the UK, Spain and Germany, and the Rafale of France. Indian Air Force’s Sukhoi-30 and Mirage were also part of the exercise. Tejas is smaller than all these aircraft in terms of size.
Proud of Tejas’ performance
Air Chief Chowdhury said the Tejas is a small aircraft but in terms of capability it is not inferior to any aircraft participating in the exercise. He said that Tejas has proved its mettle. For the first time Tejas got the opportunity to practice with so many different aircraft.
Air Chief said we are proud of Tejas performance and I hope our counter parts (Air Force Chiefs of Germany, Spain and France) also think the same about Tejas performance and take 1 or 2 aircraft with them. want
